Special Requirements
Three sputum specimens collected at 8-24 hour intervals and should include at least one first morning specimen. Deliver to lab within 30 minutes. No Culture swabs will be accepted.

Reflexive Disclosure
An AFB stain (CPT 87206) and concentration (CPT 87015) are performed. If smear is positive, MTD testing (amplified probe technique) is
performed. Identification will be performed on positive cultures.
If culture is positive CPT codes 87555, 87560, and/or 87550 for direct probe may be performed.
