Special Requirements

Acceptable specimens are: Sputum, Urine, Body Fluids, Brushings, Fine Needle Aspiration, Cyst Aspirations.
Each specimen container should be labeled with the patient’s name and the type of specimen. Slides should have the patient’s name written in pencil on the frosted end.
Each specimen must be accompanied by a Cytology Requisition.
Specimens in ether, formalin or other fixatives will be rejected.
